Summer 2017
You guys have heard the story. Soon after Randy and I got married, I was going year round 18 credits a semester so that I could finish at the same time Randy would finish his masters. Just one semester in, I was getting burnt out. And I distinctly remember having a conversation with Randy on our way home after he picked me up from a test about something I knew I didn't get.
I jokingly said- I don't even want to be a science teacher (that's what I was going to school for-and graduated in). My sweet husband just ask what I wanted to do then. I said "I just want to take pictures of people in love" and his response still makes me weak in the knees in love with him. "So do it! You can do anything you want Laurel." He has been my greatest support and encouragement through EVERYTHING. I didn't quit school- we REALLY value education, and I wanted a degree, and I did enjoy what I was doing. But I started watching YouTube videos about photography and started getting out there, asking people to just let me take their photos. Somehow it also helped me with school and feel like I could do that too.
You guys I did it all. Just like Randy said I could. I started to grow a business. Learn new skills. AND Graduate from BYU with a degree I really enjoyed.
When we moved to Missouri, we knew we wanted to start a family soon. Instead of teaching, I decided to build my business further so it could be something that I could have when we started having kids. So I got a part time nannying job and did everything I could to get my name out there, and become the photographer I wanted to be.
I love seeing the style change since the time I just started. I really feel like I have found my style and created a brand that resembles ME. I hope you guys have enjoyed my journey, and are enjoying these pictures of people in love. because I love it, and I love you.
