You guys. I just listened to this awesome podcast. Are you podcast listeners??
I just started listening to some, and Goal Digger and Rise Podcast are my favorites so far.
On a recent Rise Podcast, Rachel Hollis and owner of Able, Livable Fashion, talk about the motive behind their businesses and how it really drives what they do.
I feel like that is life you guys!! The motive behind everything we do is SO important and changes the way we see or work, or to do lists, and the mundane.
Have you ever thought about the work that you do, weather that's a 9-5 job, stay at home mom, or a mix of all the random things, have you ever thought about WHY you do it???
For me, Photography isn't just a means of acquiring money. That's actually not what it's about at all. I run this business to have an outlet for creativity. To meet and serve people in a special way that I feel I have talent for! I chose to pursue this because I love it! and because it is something to keep me active in good things and still allow me to be home with my children.
You might think that photography is my dream job- and while its amazing, and I love it, it's like number 3 on my list. Right now my most important job is being a wife. And my DREAM JOB has always been to be a mom! and I'm SO CLOSE you guys!!! I'm so excited.
So for me, my motive comes down to LOVE. I LOVE photography. I LOVE meeting new people and being able to capture their love and their special moments. But most of all, I LOVE my husband and my growing family, and I want to do all I can to be the BEST ME that I can be so that I can serve and love them to the best of my ability. SO that WE can be together as much as humanly possible and make special memories together.
Maybe that didn't make sense the way I wrote it, but taking the time to think about my motive behind the things I do, really motivated me.
So ask yourself. What's your motive??
